Maurice Keenan Clock repairs
Maurice Keenan continues a family tradition of clock repair, restoration and conservation which dates back to the 1950’s. Following the retirement of Teresa and Edward his parents in 2000, Maurice established his workshop in the craft courtyard of Malahide Castle in north county Dublin. In 2008 he married and moved to Leitrim where he now operates his workshop on the Old Dublin Road in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Clock Repairs Services
Maurice specialises in the sympathetic restoration, of clock mechanisms, dials and cases, of all types, “ the objective is not to make a clock look new, rather make it look as if it were kept beautifully all its life”, he explains.
Maurice maintains a large stock of antique parts and has the facilities and skill to make almost any missing part of a clock mechanism, dial or case.
Nationwide Clock Repairs
While many people like to come to the workshop in person to “see where it all happens” it is not always easy to move an oversized or very heavy clock, in this event Maurice is happy to travel to the clock. Given his family links to Dublin, Maurice travels to Dublin on average twice a month, collecting and delivering work across the capital.
If you have an extensive collection of clocks which are due to be oiled or may have simple problems, Maurice will work for a full day in your home for a flat fee.
